Welding MIG / MAG (GMAW) Methods of procedure
Welding under protective gas, the manner in which the drops fall off dall’elettrodo define two transfer systems. Uni first method called “SHORT CIRCUIT TRANSFER (SHORT-ARC), is entering the electrode in direct contact with the bath, it is then a short fuse with effect from the thread that is interrupted after the arc is turn and the cycle repeats itself.

Another method to obtain the transfer of drops is the so-called “TRANSFER TO SPRAY (SPRAY-ARC), which enables drops fall off electroda and later arrived in the bathroom of a merger.

The MIG process is a process Pulsato transfer Arc Spray MIG appropriately managed and controlled where the energy is transferred all’arco so impulsive, or the welding current is suitably shaped so as to have instantly a high pulse energy, which causes the posting and transfer control of a single drop of material inputs and, later increased to a value of maintenance to support the arc welding, but without transfer of material. At this juncture, the smelting bath has a chance to cool down thus enabling a smooth and orderly filing of the particle of molten metal on the workpiece.

The MIG Pulsato allows a speed of execution of the weld much higher than the Arc Spray MIG classic thanks to a faster and more efficient process of filing. In addition there is a drastic reduction of the spray and welding fumes in a marked reduction in the time to rework the parts that are welded, in fact, lower distortion and a very good position to finish.

Welding MIG / MAG parameters

Dell’arco visibility reduces the need for strict compliance with the scales of adjustment by the operator who has the ability to directly control the smelting bath.
-The voltage directly affects the appearance of the cord, but the size of the welded surface can be varied according to requirements by acting manually on the movement of the torch in order to obtain deposits with variable voltage constant.
-The speed of progress of the wire is connected with the current processes saldatura.Sia MIG MIG Pulsato Short-Arc/Spry-Arc that, depending on the generator used, there are simple and rapid synergistic and settings welding parameters automatically set according to operating conditions (material, thickness, gas, wire-speed) dynamically controlled and kept balanced during the welding process through the control microprocessor. This allows to obtain excellent results in welding in terms of quantity, quality, and beauty in every condition and every application.

Gas used
The MIG-MAG welding is characterized mainly by the type of gas used, inert welding MIG (Metal Inert Gas), active in MAG welding (Metal Active Gas).

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Using CO2 as a gas of protection you get high performance with high speed and good mechanical properties together with low operating cost. Nevertheless, the use of this gas creates significant problems on the final chemical composition of the joints, as there is a loss of readily oxidizable elements and, simultaneously, there is an enrichment of carbon in the bathroom.
Welding with pure CO2 from other types of problems such as the presence of excessive splashing and the formation of porosity by carbon monoxide.

Argon

This inert gas is used in the pure light alloy welding while the welding of stainless steel chrome-nickel you prefer to work with the addition of oxygen and CO2 in the 2% rate, this contributes to the stability dell’arco and best form of cord.

Elio

This gas is used as an alternative all’argon and allows greater performance (on large thickness) and increased speed of play.

Argon-Helium Mixture

The result is a more stable arc than pure all’elio, greater penetration and speed all’argon.
Argon-CO2 mixture

These mixtures are used in welding of ferrous materials, especially under conditions of SHORT-ARC, as it improves the specific heat contribution. This does not exclude the use SPRY-ARC. Usually the mixture contains a proportion of CO2 ranging from 8 to 20% and O2 at about 5%.
