The German robot manufacturer KUKA expands its product range in the welding market with two new types of robotic arc HW KR 16 and KR 16 L8 arc HW. These robotic adequacy thesis is arc welding, and are characterized by their rugged construction and accuracy, which makes them a safe investment and a tailored solution that meets all requirements for ar welding manufacture.

The robots have a hollow-wrist design with an opening of 50 millimeters, which makes it possible to integrate all known welding packages and simultaneously obtain a high repeatability of less than + / – 0.05 millimeters. Since they have degree of protection IP54 are suitable for operation in harsh environments, which are typical for welding.

The endlessly rotating axis 6 saves time, while the combination of powerful engines and low weight (245/238 kg) to ensure a high productivity of welding experts. KR 16 arc D which has a payload of up to 16 kg, is particularly suitable for larger items, for example through thick plate applications. But if the scope is important, KR 16 L8 arc HW is clearly the first choice with a range of up to 2015 millimeters.

After the launch of the first KUKA robot with a hollow-wrist design back in 2007, founded the company now these two new models in the light of this construction. The optimized arm with double-sided mounting on the robot has proved its efficiency in production environments. It ensures greater rigidity and reduced vibration – and it does not go to pieces as a result of minor collisions.
